Tinnitus be damned, i had to listen to this the way it was intended. I probably listened to this song on repeat a hundred times that day on the loudest volume i could get from my hand-me-down walkman cassette player. The speed, intensity and power was this amazingly over-stimulating experience. I must have been 10 years old at this point and my parents/family never really shared music with me. This sensation of "loud" has never graced my ears before. Then it happened. All i want.was all i wanted. Didn't know or get it, thought it was "meh" for a half ass chuckle, but a but disappointed cause i knew i bought the wrong album as i hadn't heard this. For whatever reason i put the B side in first so i rewound it to the beginning and heard intermission.
I get home, throw on the headphones and decided to see what those cool kids were into and why. I remember the album i was looking for was mostly green, so i thought i hit jackpot and continued to buy it. I start combing through all the music and i stumbled across this album. I decided to go out and buy a cassette at a circuit city (can you guess my age at this point?), and while there i had a complete brain fart regarding what cassette i had set out to buy. Way back in gradeschool, 4th grade, all the "cool kids" were listening to green day and i remember seeing the album "dookie" on repeat in a classroom. This album holds such an important place in my heart and this song in particular was essentially a catalyst to what i listen to now.
